I now offer "Cinematography Services" from Company Reports to Weddings, to
Theatre and Performance (Amateur and Professional).
You might call it "Video" or "Dvd" services but it covers far more than that.
By using a Sony EX1 "Solid State" HD Camera I can give you far more than moving pictures.
Picture and sound quality far outreaches the "DV" Video camera of the past.
For editing I use Sony Vegas 8 Pro. Here's the quick quote from their website.
"Professional HD video editing, audio editing, and DVD authoring software
The Vegas Pro collection combines Vegas Pro 8, DVD Architect Pro 4.5, and Dolby®
Digital AC-3 encoding software to offer an integrated environment for all phases
of professional video, audio, DVD, and broadcast production. These tools let you
edit and process DV, AVCHD, HDV, SD/HD-SDI, and all XDCAM™ formats in real time,
fine-tune audio with precision, and author surround sound, dual-layer DVDs."
So your day or event is covered from start to finish with a complete professional
package.
An example Wedding would mean :-
- Sitting down with the Bride and Groom before the event and discussing
what they actually want from the day recorded. It may go something like this...
- The Dressing of the Bride (tastefully done of course).
- (Depending on location also the Groom.)
- Church and guests arriving. (Depending on location/travel)
- Bride/Bride Father and Bridesmaids departing.
- Bride/Bride Father and Bridesmaids arriving at venue.
- Bride/Bride Father and Bridesmaids entering venue.
- The Ceremony. (Full or Edited)
- Signing of the registry (Where allowed)
- Exit of the Bride and Groom.
- While the photographs are being taken I will shoot the guests
(none shall me harmed unless directed to) and have them give their
best wishes to the happy couple.
- Then onto the meal where while drinks are being served I shall
capture the tables and cake quietly and steal the silver (only joking
about the silver... Honest...).
- Seeing your guests eating can be quite scary, so I might not
capture that...
- Then onto the "Speeches"... Heavy editing may have to be done
here to shorten the Father of the Bride's speech to 3 hours.
Also "canned laughter" can be added to the Best Man speech... *wink*
- Then onto the dancing of which the first dance is always recorded.
- Then if you like I'll stay to the end and get the Bride and Groom
leaving, but you never know what's been planned so you might not want
me there...
Obviously you can't have a 6 hour DVD, you don't want to bored your guests,
so then I would edit the DVD, cutting it down to what the Bride and Groom
wants, or as close as I can get it. (Sorry Bridesmaids... I can't arrange to have Brad Pitt
there as the stunt man.)
I'd then invite the Bride and Groom round to see the 1st draft (after the honeymoon) and then
produce the DVDs within a week (sometimes even that day for them if they
approve the draft version).
But there's an other quicker option.. A cut down version, with no bells and fancy editing
can be created by the evening, so you can give your guests a DVD of the wedding there and
then. While the meal is taking place I would create the Wedding DVD of the day so far,
adding the later bits piece by piece as they are taken (speeches etc).
Once the whole DVD is created, I would then create a master DVD and using a DVD copying
machine create copies there and then. I would need a place to do this and of course
the number of copies I create would be limited to about 20 to 30 an hour (copying time).
Now that's service for you.
(Psst I can also create photo CDs if you choose me to be your photographer this way also
so that guests can walk away from the wedding with the wedding photos...)
Simple and Easy... Much like me...
